Hidden Mickeys

Hidden Mickey's have the basic format of
two smaller circular ears attached to
a larger circle

Some Passholders come to Disneyland just to find these. Others go on rides hundreds of times to spot the secret mickey hidden on the ride. Many people have attempted to publish a book on these, but most have fell short. I have read most of them and they exclude and include many. Sometimes too many and others too few. There is only one real way of telling if something really is what you think it is and that is by determening by yourself because everyone has different takes on the wonder of the Hidden Mickey.

Hidden Mickeys are 2D or 3D objects throughout the resort. They can range from balloons to plates. From holes in walls to just the meer formation of umbrellas. A Classic Hidden Mickey is one that looks like this. Not only can Mickey be considered as a "Hidden Mickey" but some of his friends can too. Including Grumpy, Donald Duck, Goofy, and many others!

Now the colors may change and finding one is a big feat. Many scream when they see it. Others point and whisper because they don't want to reveal the secret. But most don't even know they exist. There are sheer signs of a tourist and being totally unaware of a Hidden Mickey. Below I will mention all that I have found and the ones that I think are necissary. Some are pretty ridiculous. I will admit there are many I have yet to find and some I may never will. But it doesn't discourage me and it certainly shouldn't discourage you. It is a fun experience and a great way to spend you day at Disneyland.

Disneyland - HAUNTED MANSION
  1. When you enter the Ballroom Scene, look down at the table. Pay close attention to the plates. One set might form a classic Hidden Mickey. NOTE: Cast Members like to move these around.
  2. In the line, after you exit the room that is "Actually stretching" (Elevator) Look to the portraits hanging on the wall that change. Look at the one with the painting of a ship. When it changes from new to old, watch the lower left sail for a Hidden Mickey that is in the form of a ripped sail.
Disneyland - SPLASH MOUNTAIN

Disneyland - PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN
      1. When you go after you pass the seen with the lightning and the skeleton steering the ship. Look for the next scene on your left with the skeleton holding the magnifying glass in the bed. Look to the right of the bed where there is a wooden chair. On the top of the chair is a golden plate. This one is hard to fin but it is engraved in the wood right under the gold plate.
      2. When Barbosa's ship is attacking the main land, look at the wall of the main land. Now since it is a lot darker in that room now, it is a lot harder to find. But there are three wholes in the center of the wall. They are large and can only be seen from the right angle. They form a Hidden Mickey.
      3. After you pass the famous scene with the men in jail attracting the dog with the keys, you will pass through a house that has been burned down. When you continue on into the last scene with the drunken pirates shooting back at eachother,  look to the west wall (left). In the center of one of the peices of armor hanging, there is a small Hidden Mickey. NOTE: This one also is moved occasionally.
California Adventure - TOWER OF TERROR

      2. On the ride she later appears holding the same doll.
California Adventure - TOY STORY MIDWAY MANIA
      1. When you are at the loading gates, look at the wall in front of you. You will see Woody and two other characters in circles. Focus on the circles they are in. They should form a Hidden Mickey.
